Job Description

Floating Support Worker - Supported Housing £22,801.11 (£10,784.30 pro rata) / £11.81 per hour Stokesley, North Yorkshire Part Time - 17.5 hours per week (hours to be agreed with suitable candidate) Permanent Do you have great listening and communication skills and an interest in supporting vulnerable older peopleOur client now has an opportunity for a Part Time Support Worker to join their Extra Care team.

  • You will be based at Town Close, Stokesley. At times the role will include working at other similar sites in Northallerton and Thirsk
  • You will need to hold a valid driving licence, have the ability and confidence to drive and have access to a vehicle with appropriate vehicle insurance.
The Role Their Support Workers deliver excellent support services to vulnerable older people, across North Yorkshire within their Extra Care and Sheltered schemes. You will assist with the coordination of services delivered within the scheme and engage in communitydevelopment to ensure social inclusion for the residents.You will welcome new residents to their accommodation and assist them to settle into the scheme and make friendships. Developing and maintaining open and honest relationships with their residents, you will encourage them to participate and contribute todecision-making.Additionally, you will provide information to, and develop life skills for, residents to enhance their independence and quality of life, including health promotion. Participation in the development and implementation of a range of person centred social andlearning activities for residents will also be a key part of the role.What are their looking for:
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience of coordinating multi-disciplinary services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
  • Able to problem solve and make sound judgements.
  • Able to organise and prioritise a demanding workload
  • Intermediate skills in I.T. software including Word and Excel
