Job Description

Chef / Catering Supervisor Stokesley, North Yorkshire£23,236.92 pro rata plus excellent benefits Part Time - 26 hours per weekPermanent Sociable Hours (shifts are between 8am and 5.30pm) Are you a passionate Chef who thrives on making a real and positive difference to the lives of older peopleWe now have an opportunity available for a Chef / Catering Supervisor to join our fantastic Kitchen Team in Stokesley!The role As a not-for-profit housing organisation we provide a comprehensive range of services to over 6,000 homes, and the four extra care schemes within the group deliver on site catering and hospitality service to a diverse range of customers.Within this position, you will lead and motivate the onsite catering team to deliver the catering and hospitality service at our extra care schemes ensuring we deliver an efficient and cohesive catering and hospitality service across the Broadacres group.You will be responsible for the front-line delivery of brand standards from food preparation, cooking and service delivery taking in to account the nutritional needs of older people and those with individual dietary requirements.You will monitor costs, rotas, waste management, and equipment plus you will support and assist in the delivery of the company’s food safety management system (HACCP), ensuring temperature control records and food labelling are complied with.Broadacres aim to be the Best Rural Housing Association in the country and with the four extra care sites delivering best in class service to our customers and guests, so we are looking for great people to join us!About you We are looking for a Chef / Catering Supervisor with demonstrable experience of working within the catering industry and supervising a frontline team.You will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working within the catering industry and supervision of a frontline team
  • An understanding of budget and financial control methods.
  • Experience of supervising a team in the catering industry.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations
  • NVQ level 3 in professional cookery or willing to work towards
  • CIEH Level 2 Certificate or higher in Food Hygiene
A full Driving Licence and access to a car for business purposes is essentialWhat we can offer in return:
