Job Description

Copywriter A fantastic opportunity to join one of the UKs leading independent financial advisory and wealth management firms.We are looking for those of you who wish to grow with us as a business in our Bromsgrove office with hybrid working opportunities. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary plus a range of benefits.Working closely with the Marketing team and key stakeholders across the business, the Copywriter is responsible for creating clear and engaging copy for client communications that support the financial advice process, propositions, products and servicesthat we offer.Reporting to the Marketing Operations Manager, you will also support the production of all mandatory reports that clients receive on their fund/investment performance and valuations.A primary focus will be managing the review and re-write of client communications under the requirements of the Financial Conduct Authoritys Consumer Duty regulation, ensuring that brand differentiators, product, service and charging information is communicatedin a clear, concise and client-centric way.The role is responsible for maintaining the overarching brand tone of voice and naming conventions, plus advising key stakeholders on creating copy with the client in mind.Key Responsibilities as our Copywriter will include:

  • Produce clear copy for client-facing communications which incorporates the principles of plain English, including but not limited to customer documents, servicing letters and mandatory reports.
  • Act as a review partner for collateral items produced by other department members to maintain the quality of clear copy written, ensuring that this isnt lost over time.
  • Be a brand champion and advocate to the wider business.
  • Agree business terminology, grammatical preferences and brand tone of voice to ensure that all pieces of copy produced are consistent.
  • Project manage copy elements of new client-facing collateral, including production of project plans and management of stakeholders.
  • Act as a Marketing department key contact where appropriate, providing updates to the wider team on potential changes to products and services that may require resource or offer marketing opportunities.
  • Build and maintain excellent product and proposition knowledge and an understanding of the advice process journey to ensure copy is technically correct.
  • Work with the rest of the Operations team in following the internal stakeholder/risk/compliance approvals process, ensuring an audit trail of approvals is maintained.
  • Act as main point of contact for other client-facing business areas for advice on producing clear copy for clients (eg: Operations team members, advisers, etc) as required and across any medium.
  • Undertake other projects/duties/responsibilities as required to support the rest of the team, department or the company.
  • Be proactive in personal professional development, to contribute to overall team performance.
What we are looking for in our ideal Copywriter:
  • English degree or similar qualification.
  • Previous experience of copywriting either in-house or through an agency for financial services organisations.
  • Thorough understanding of the Consumer Duty rules and outcomes, and how to apply best practice principles to client-facing communications.
  • Experience of Plain English principles (Plain English Campaign Diploma desirable)
  • Previous experience of obtaining a brief, sourcing information and insight from numerous areas and creating engaging and innovative content for a suite of collateral.
  • Proven project management experience.
