Job Description

We also offer the opportunity to move to either partial or full home working after settling into the role.As a 111 Clinical Advisor, youll be seen as an integral member of the team, supporting the Health Advisors within the contact centre.Calls will be directed to you when patients require clinical advice. By using a combination of your clinical expertise and our NHS Pathways software, youll ensure the patient receives the most suitable treatment tailored to their needs. Treatment can rangefrom self-care and advice to referring patients to other services such as OOH appointments or other members of our multi-disciplinary team.Full and paid training will be offered so that you can use the NHS Pathways system. While we are a non-urgent service, some calls can be emotional, distressing or life-threatening, and there will be times when 999 services (such as an ambulance) may need tobe dispatched.As our 111 contact centres are open 24 hours, we have numerous shift patterns available, ranging from 1638.5 hours per week. These patterns operate on a 2-8 week rotating rota and include daytime, evenings, nights and weekend working so we should be ableto offer you something that fits in with your lifestyle.Our contact centres are located in Southall, Bristol, Ipswich, and Dorking.Pay rates and benefits

  • £19.81 per hour (7am - 11pm) and £22.52 per hour (11pm-7am)
  • Golden Hello - Pathways trained £2,500 (pro rata for part time)
  • Golden Hello- Non pathways trained £1,500 (pro rata for part time)
  • Golden hello - Terms and conditional apply. Payable after 6 months, upon successful completion of probationary period. Golden hello applies if you have been successful and accepted a role before the end of September and your start date is before 31st October.

Training and SupportIn order to use the NHS 111 Pathways system and work as a Clinical Advisor, youll need to undertake our extensive training programme which includes completing and passing assessments.We have two options for the initial NHS Pathways training, followed by a further 8 weeks of support from our Supervisors and Clinical Advisors prior to being signed-off to work on your own.The training options are:Full TimeMondayFriday, 9am5pm (lasting for 6 weeks)Part TimeTuesThurs, 6pm9.30pm and Sat & Sun, 9am5pm (lasting for 9 weeks)These courses are run on a monthly basis and its essential that you can commit to attend every session of the training.We provide you with a workbook prior to starting the training which needs to be reviewed and completed. Although this can be a little daunting, it will allow you to get a head start in understanding what youll learn in your training.About The Candidate
  • Be a registered Nurse (with NMC registration).
  • Previous experience working as a clinician post-qualification.
  • Have excellent communication skillsincluding listening and telecommunication
  • Have good IT and keyboard skills
  • A passion for providing outstanding patient care
