Job Description

Workshop Plant ForemanStockton-on-Tees£34,023RSD Recruitment are working with a well known hire company in Durham to recruit for a workshop plant foreman in the Stockton on Tees area!The successful candidate will have experience working on a variety of machinery and equipment, including 14 tonne excavators, diggers, dozers, dumpers, 17 tonne telehandlers, rollers, as well as diesel powered generators used on welfare units.This is a great opportunity for an experienced plant fitter who is looking to take a step up into a more managerial position!The work will consist of:-

  • Supervising staff in the workshop and distributing work equitably and efficiently to ensure product is available to meet hire requirements, and preventative maintenance is carried out in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Carrying out any of the tasks which would normally be assigned to workshop staff as necessary to ensure hire commitments / service standards are met.
  • Assisting or advising staff in their department on any aspect of their work they are unsure of.
  • Ensuring all machine services / repairs are carried out in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, whether on hire or in depot and all relevant paperwork are correctly completed and maintaining service record files.
  • Ensuring all plant returned from hire is carefully inspected to ensure all damages are recorded. Reporting site damages to the relevant department to ensure customers are charged correctly.
  • Ensuring there is adequate staff resource in place to meet the companies objectives at all times, taking into consideration holiday and staff sickness.
  • Raising requisitions for consumables and other items for the workshops including parts to repair the Companys or customers machines.
Schedule:Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)07:30 - 16:30 (30 min lunch break)
