Job Description

We are searching for a Vocational Curriculum Manager to take on a fantastic opportunity in one of the prisons we are supporting. If you are passionate about supporting vulnerable people and are looking for a new, challenging opportunity, this is the perfectrole for you!Role Details:

  • Full Time- 37 Hours Per Week
  • Working hours 8am- 5pm Monday- Friday
  • £33,636.74 to £37,914.56 based on experience and qualifications
  • Permanent Role
  • Leading a team of 7-8 lecturers of Vocational subjects such as Painting and Decorating, Barbering, etc.

  • Teach designated hours as required, with a flexible approach to delivering across curriculum areas as needed to fulfil YOI requirements
  • Plan, lead and develop the curriculum area within the establishment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, the integration of functional skills, individual learner needs and quality assurance targets
  • To be responsible for the self-assessment and quality reports of courses in relevant curriculum area and to ensure timely implementation of action plans arising from these reports
  • Ensure that the quality of the learner experience is maintained through effective line management, co-ordination of budgets and adherence to quality standards
  • To induct and mentor new staff including Associate Teachers and to ensure that new entrants to teaching are properly supervised and gain recognised teaching qualifications within the required timescales
  • Ensure learning meets individual learning plans and assessed learner special needs
  • Lead in delivery and accreditation of learner-focused provision
  • Day to day management of teaching team in line with policies and procedures
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent
  • Hold QTS / QTLS
  • Have IQA qualification/ Experience
  • A degree or equivalent subject specialist qualification
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Desirable
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and developments at appropriate levels within national curriculum
  • Track record of effective teaching experience achieving good or outstanding LTO standards
  • Track record of efficient administration in relation to accreditation and national curriculum requirements
  • Track record of effectively leading a team
  • Track record of working with learners who present with challenging behaviour and special educational needs
