Job Description

Are you looking for world-class training with a globally recognised brand Then this could be the role for you!Our client, Caterpillar is looking to train and develop trainee welders. The successful candidates will be trained to meet the facilities specific welding needs. This will allow us to eventually support the fabrication production requirements as the buildprogram increases within the Stockton facility.Benefits:

Pay Rate and Working Hours:
  • Pay rate will be £6.83 PER HOUR - £9.50 PER HOUR (depending on age), which will be reviewed and increased at 10 weeks and 12 months.
  • Initially working day shift: 6.45 am - 15.00pm Monday to Thursday, 6.45 am - 12:45 pm Friday
  • Following this, you will go onto a three shift pattern, shifts do not rotate but you must be flexible to work any shift.
    • 06:45AM - 15:00PM (Mon - Thur) 6.45AM - 12.45PM (Fri)
    • 14:45PM - 23:00PM (Mon - Thur) 10.45AM - 16.45PM (Fri)
    • 22:45PM - 07:00AM (Mon - Thur) 16.30PM - 22.30PM (Fri)
Responsibilities:
  • Intensive training in Welding theory and the practical welding process for 8 weeks at Hartlepool College, before being slowly introduced into the Operations environment. This will be supervised by an appointed Weld Training Specialist.
  • Training on the basic fundamentals and required aspects of welding in line with People, Quality, Velocity and Cost.
  • Adhere to standard work practices
  • Adhere to H&S and PPE requirements Requirements:

  • NVQ level 1 in welding and fabrication
  • A genuine interest in welding as a career
  • Flexibility to work across all 3 shifts when needed
