Job Description

OverviewH9 Technical Recruitment are looking for a Shift Manager to take responsibility for leading a team of Operators to run a gas power plant, for the electrical capacity market.Your day-to-day role will have direct people management responsibility through the Project and Maintenance requirements within the role and expected to operate within stringent Safety Regulations across the site, applying your knowledge and expertise withinMultidiscipline projects.Role & Responsibilities

  • You will take an overview of Re-commissioning, construction, projects, and demolition to deliver the plan contributing to the production demands and constraints.
  • Take the lead on continuous improvement initiatives within the operations department.
  • Maintaining high standards for EHS, housekeeping associated with all work delivery in the field, including AP technicians, site-based contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Compliance with Safety Audit requirements, and communication of site safety information to all technicians and contractors.
  • Line management responsibility for Operations.

    • Setting objectives
    • Managing performance
  • Successful execution of work according to the Production Plan
  • Ensure flexibility of work execution team to react to changing priorities.
  • Ensure work can be executed as planned by reviewing jobs before they are scheduled.
  • Drive PM compliance for Operations Team via ownership of plant areas.
  • Report weekly on resource availability and feed into maintenance planner
  • Coach and develop a team of Operators ensuring their skills and expertise are fully deployed in line with business needs.
  • Support the Plant Engineer and I & E Mechanical Manager with the management and monitoring of the annual maintenance strategy for all plant areas.
  • Work closely with equipment suppliers to problem solve, identify scope and drive through improvement opportunities.
Shift pattern:24/7 Shift operations working shifts 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off.Skills & Experience
  • Formal Operations background
  • Experienced Supervisor within Operations
  • Commissioning experience
  • Experienced with ERP tools, (SAP, etc)
  • Heavy engineering / heavy manufacturing plant e.g. chemical plant, brewery, paper mill, manufacturing plant, power generating plant CHP, recycling plant, foundry, etc.
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Proven fault finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent
