Job Description

Brief:I have a new role available for a SAP specialist who has strong experience with both Business Analysis and Configuration in SAP SD and MM modules. A senior team member is due to leave in 2021, so we are searching for a suitable replacement with enough time to complete a good handover and integrate you into their wider SAP support team. Ideally you will have experience as an analyst for primarily the SAP SD and MM modules, but will be also be comfortable diversifying into other modules in absence of other team members. As a senior team member you will be pivotal in delivering a number of key projects, as well as being on hand for technical support.There are lots of exciting projects and some directions to still be decided on the progression of SAP for the business. projects / long term changes include;

  • Merger of multiple UK businesses into a singular SAP instance
  • SAP S4 Hana upgrade from ECC 6, potentially being a part of a singular EMEA / US template initiative.
  • Integrations including EDI / IDOCS integrations as well as looking at how to integrate with clients and other 3rd parties
  • Development of the SAP Fiori front end design on applications
  • Digital initiatives to provide process improvements, automation etc
    • As a member of the change team, you will also be responsible for approving live changes. As part of ongoing support and delivery, you will be required to manage the full Business Application Analysis lifecycle - from initial ideal / concept / problem through to scope, functional requirements, delivery, testing, integration and training.Engagement will be with local and international businesses, and require the use of 3rd party vendors and suppliers. Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical and process expert for a number of modules within the SAP R3 business application and carry out problem / fault diagnosis and resolution as required to ensure the agreed availability and efficient operation of the system. Manage the resolution of issues which cannot be solved within the International Business Application Group with the agreed external support provider to ensure timely completion.
  • Proactively liaise with other members of the cross regional Business Application Group to ensure that the impact of changes to the application and related processes implemented by the jobholder is considered and managed across all other Businesses / modules / business processes
  • Operate within the BAG Project and Change management processes and procedures. This includes being a member of the CAB Approval process and query/approve changes in the absence of European IT Business Application Manager.
  • Identify areas within the SAP R3 application and related processes where improvements can be made to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the European Business operation.
  • Lead the cost benefit analysis process for potential improvements and support the presentation and gaining of sanction from the related Business steering teams.
  • Project Manage the implementation of such improvements to ensure that the work is effectively resourced and delivered. This will include the detailed specification and configuration
  • Identify the need for, and complete end-user training in, SAP R/3 functionality and related processes to ensure the efficient and robust ongoing operation of the system and processes.
  • Lead or provide support for (as agreed) project activities in areas related to the development and extension of Business applications and associated processes in order to deliver the defined business benefits within the agreed project costs
    • Experience Required:Other than the SAP skills required, the job requires the management of a programme of multiple activities and projects, often with conflicting priorities. You will therefore need to demonstrate excellent project and time management skills to balance these priorities and ensure completion of all activities and projects. Youll also need excellent communication skills, with the ability to use these at all levels of the organisation and across a range of regions and cultures.
