Job Description

If you enjoy working with people, youre a good listener and youthink you could help our customers feel welcome, then this Regional Sales Centre Assistant Manager could be a great permanent opportunity for you.JOB PURPOSESupport the Regional Sales Centre Manager and support the National Sales team in the creation and delivery of plans which drive incremental direct and ex-yard sales across a defined area, ensuring maximum sales are achieved whilst building strong workingrelationships and improving customer experience through the management and development of a strong internal sales team.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience of working within a sales environment is essential, with contract sales being an advantage and a proven record of sales and margin growth
  • Proven people management experience is essential, as is the ability to delivery through a collaborative management approach
  • Customer relationship management is essential, as is the ability to meet customer needs to full expectations
  • Must have a pro-active approach with proven planning, organisation and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills are essential, both in writing and verbally
  • Must be able to manage change positively and proactively, and resolve problems to maximum effect
  • Must be a proven team player with the ability to work on own initiative when required
  • Strong awareness of the market and its influencing factors preferred
KEY RESULT AREAS
  • Design and deliver sales plans in order to meet, achieve and exceed sales and margin targets and budgets, with an aim to maximise brand performance and deliver an exceptional customer value proposition and colleague experience, whilst continuously drivinggrowth in our market position
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and prospective customers, whilst managing lead generation and conversion, through pro-active follow up
  • Create close working relationships with large contract customers by providing one stop shop principles supported by a single point of contact
  • Work closely with suppliers, the national sales team, branch managers etc., to continuously develop and deliver on all sales opportunities
  • Incorporate the Jewson Values in to everyday life through adapting these in to everyday performance
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team, providing coaching and development support to ensure colleagues are capable, have the necessary skills, and are inspired to be effective within their roles and to reach their career ambitions
  • Continuously look for ways to improve efficiencies across the National Sales team and wider business through supporting and delivering new processes i.e. digital solutions for the National segment of customers
  • Ensure knowledge of market trends, competitor activity and supplier performance, is up to date at all times
  • Utilise the range of product "specialists", central functions, and key supplier support to ensure all customers are familiar with the total Jewson product offering
  • Promote and utilise the support available from supply chain hubs, branch and central functions to achieve the highest levels of customer excellence
  • Complete on time and in full, company sales reporting procedures, as required
  • Promote a positive Jewson image at all times and be responsible for the upkeep and condition of any Company property allocated in the course of carrying out the job
