Job Description

Job Title: Quality Engineer - New Product Introduction (NPI)Location : Stockton-on-TeesSalary : competitivePosition Summary:Central Employment is currently seeking a qualified Quality Engineer specializing in New Product Introduction (NPI). In this role, you will play a pivotal role within the Quality department, focusing on NPI projects. Your primary responsibility will be toprepare comprehensive quality documentation, including PPAP, ISIR, testing requirements, and any customer-specific specifications. Additionally, you will generate internal documents to facilitate a seamless transition into volume production and develop gaugingrequirements and measurement techniques.Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage multiple NPI projects concurrently.
  • Act as a key point of contact during the NPI process.
  • Create, control, and submit all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure full compliance with APQP requirements.
  • Complete the International Material Data System (IMDS) documentation.
  • Participate in site visits to assess tooling, suppliers, and customer facilities.
  • Attend all relevant internal and external NPI meetings.
  • Develop gauge concepts and work closely with gauge makers to ensure the availability and validation of gauges for applicable trials.
Skills & Experience:Essential
  • Exceptional time management and communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Minimum education level of HNC.
  • Proficiency in project management.
  • Previous experience with APQP.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and provide feedback on drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Willingness to travel in line with job responsibilities.
  • Possession of a valid full driving license.
Preferred
  • Experience in relevant industries.
  • Previous work experience in an NPI Quality role.
  • Knowledge of NPI processes.
  • Understanding of related manufacturing processes.
Working Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:45 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am – 12:30 pm
