Job Description

Our client an established and rapidly expanding manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to join their expanding team.Overall Purpose:

  • To assist in the development and management of all aspects of a comprehensive quality assurance for the business, maintaining the highest standard through robust policies and procedures.
  • Working with all managers to ensure a Quality-focused culture, effective in driving improved performance and customer satisfaction, is delivered through day to day practices.
  • Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To assist in maintaining all quality documentation in line with current requirements.
  • Incorporating quality information into the system to promote the highest standard of work and compliance to quality requirements.
  • Ensuring robust corrective actions are identified and implemented in response to customer complaints and internal non-conformances.
  • To assist in ensuring both internal and external audits are completed effectively in line with ISO9001 standards and requirements.
  • To ensure that quality system requirements are communicated effectively to all departments, including shop floor personnel.
  • To promote the importance of improving our cost of quality performance throughout the company.
  • Comply with internal quality control and external quality assurance procedures.
  • Skills & Attributes Required:
  • Background in quality management, or senior quality role, ideally in a metals / machining environment.
  • Metallurgical degree (or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of ISO9001 and NDE processes, particularly LPT, ECT & RT.
  • Experience of working with and auditing of AS9100, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 systems.
  • Working Knowledge of ASME Codes and PED advantageous.
  • Structured, disciplined and self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team or lead a team.
  • Flexible, proactive and assertive approach in addition to strong organisational and prioritisation skills, whilst able to perform within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Full working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
  • The Package:
  • £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience.
