Job Description

Principal Software Engineer - Java - Remote / Stockton - up to £68K DOEThis role is with an innovative technology company who are responsible for delivering large scale solutions globally. Their clients range from government bodies through to commercial customers, they are the leading provider within their field and their innovationmakes a positive difference to peoples lives.This role will form a newly created team who are responsible for a large-scale, high value project. They are looking to hire a Principal Software Engineer (Java) to join them on this exciting and mission-critical project.The successful Principal Software Engineer will be an expert in the field of software engineering. You will provide technical leadership regarding software architecture, software design and development processes, practices, and the selection of languagesand tools. In addition, you will utilise your skills to contribute to the software design, software architecture and development and unit testing where appropriate.Skills/Experience/Knowledge

  • Significant relevant industry experience within Java based software design and development.
  • Delivered highly functional, performance-driven, user-friendly applications.
  • Experience in developing multi-threaded applications.
  • Proficient skills in IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse.
  • Experience with formal requirements management and traceability using industry standard
  • Experience in the preparation of formal software designs using industry recognised methodologies.
  • Experience on large scale software development projects following a waterfall SDLC.
  • Agile SDLC.
  • Demonstrate the ability to define test schedules and data requirements.
  • An effective problem solver with the ability to understand and resolve complex issues.
This role can be on a remote basis, you will need to visit the office 1-2 times per month. Alternatively, if you prefer hybrid / fully office based they have an office in Stockton.Salary for this role is up to £68K DOEBenefits:
