Job Description

Logistics & Procurement ControllerLocation: MiddlesbroughSalary: up to £33,000 per annum (depending on experience)Type: PermanentHours: Mon - Fri 08:30am - 17:00pmImperial Professionals are delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with a leading global engineering organisation based in Teesside that are recruiting for a Logistics and Procurement Controller permanent basis based at their HQ in TeessideDuties:

  • Day to day awareness of the logistics team in order to provide support when other members are not available to support achievement of KPIs
  • Create and update transport manuals including detailed descriptions of all the INCO Terms that the company use
  • Provide timely preparation and process of import documentation and authorisation for HMRC for all air and sea shipments globally
  • Ensure the integrity of import / export documentation such as Bills of lading, GSP certificates, commercial invoices and packing lists
  • Be Access Key-User for Transport Management System (1st level internal & external Contact)
  • Interface (SPOC - Single Point of Contact) for all internal and external stakeholders for daily Access Logistics matters/ 1st level contact for any Access Logistics issues (escalation level is Global Logistics Management)
  • Participate to monthly Operations Meetings with for Access relevant Transport/Logistics- Suppliers
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • Monitor quality, warranty, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Planning shipments based on product availability and customer requests
  • Process and create necessary documentation, i.e. COO, SASO etc. for destination purposes
  • Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal and external systems and databases
  • Keep track of freight, warehouse, transport, and supply management systems
  • Keep internal and external customers updated on progress relating to their orders and deliveries from start to finish
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
  • Review, maintain and identify improvement and efficiency of logistics processes
  • Actively live and instil our company values: customer centric, appreciation, integrity, reliability, respect, responsibility.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality customer service
  • Follow health, safety and environmental guidelines and procedures in respect of personal and department activities.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties which are within the employees skills and abilities when requested
Requirements:
  • Experience of dealing with matters confidentially and sensitively
  • Experience of import/export customs knowledge, including Brexit rules and regulations
