Job Description

The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity exists for an Infrastructure professional who has managed an Azure infrastructure estate, to join a growing tech business. The business offers a flexible working policy, though you are likely to be in the office on average 2 to 3 daysa week.The RoleThe Infrastructure Manager is responsible for leading a small team of system engineers to provide operational support to their colleagues, alongside working closely with the companys US infrastructure team to successfully implement and manage highly scalableand secure cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure. You will:

• Manage and mentor direct reports, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure their continued growth and development.
• Provide support in all areas of provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of IT client systems hardware and software, telephony, and related infrastructure.
• Work closely with the US team to identify and implement strategic vision around scalable cloud solutions, and the frameworks used to deliver them.
• Develop and execute project plans, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project requirements, scope, and objectives.
• Lead a multi-disciplined team of IT specialists, covering system engineering support and data architecture.
• Evaluate current and future technology trends including solutions, applications, platforms and establish overall technical enablement requirements and associated planning objectives.
• Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) on all customer facing systems.
• Identify and implement operational efficiencies.
• Implementation of the support framework to the ITIL Service Level Agreements standard.
• Ensure smooth resolution of incident/problem using a management ticketing system.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system architecture and configuration; mapping; processes; and services.
• Specify, procure, and manage externally hosted IT services where necessary.
• Specify, implement, and monitor arrangements for IT system and data security.
• Ensure the availability of critical IT-based business systems together with appropriate and tested backup and disaster recovery systems.
• Manage customer expectations during scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance periods.
• Manage and participate in the on-call schedule for production support.
• Complete IT projects as assigned.

The RequirementsWith an in-depth understanding of Azure cloud computing technologies from managing an Azure IaaS estate, you will possess a strong technical background in deploying cloud infrastructure and a basic understanding of DevOps release processes including CI/CD pipelines.With line management experience either as a Manager or Team Leader, you will have:

• Managed internal helpdesk and cloud environments.
• Created SLA reports for both management and external customers.
• Operational and managerial experience in IT client/end-user support and in IT Infrastructure.
• Worked with both Linux and Windows environments.
• Managed MSSQL databases.
• Both excellent Verbal and Written communication skills along withorganisational skills and an attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to define, implement and enforce processes to ensure business continuity.
• Excellent client facing/stakeholder management experience.
• Experience Managing budgets.

Experience implementing and managing AKS clusters as wellMySQL databases will be beneficial though not essential.This is a hands-on position with a mixture of strategic design and implementation, along with day-to-day running of the organisation’s infrastructure needs.
