Eventus Legal are seeking a Head of Corporate and Commercial Law to join a highly regarded, regional North-East firm. Package: circa £75,000, depending on experience + bonus/profit share + benefitsDue to internal succession, a unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate/Commercial Senior Associate / Partner to join an established practice as Head of Corporate & Commercial.You will be leading and developing a team who specialise in complex corporate and commercial legal issues with businesses across sectors including e-commerce, engineering, IT, logistics, manufacturing, professional services, property and development and retail.You will be required to advise across a variety of commercial disciplines including business acquisitions, disposals and mergers, business start-up, business funding (for both lenders and borrowers), company and partnership matters, IP, MBO’s, MBI’s, franchising and commercial contracting.In addition to advising an existing client base you will also be required to proactively participate in business development in order to further grow the department. Some travel between offices will be required.Person specificationThe successful Head of Corporate & Commercial will be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 PQE in corporate and/or commercial matters although applications will be assessed on demonstrable ability. You will be either an experienced Senior Associate looking to progress your career and gain partnership or someone who is currently at Partner level but keen to embark upon a new challenge. Previous leadership experience is preferred, although not essential provided you have the skills and a passion to get the best out of others.You must have exceptional client communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong work ethic and the intuition to manage a busy workload as well as inspire others within your team.
