Job Description

Design Technology TechnicianStockton-on-TeesTerm Time Only plus 5 daysOur client is currently seeking to appoint a full time Design Technology Technician to assist the teaching staff in providing all students with a relevant, effective and efficient Design and Technology experience ensuring the department continues to maintain outstanding levels of engagement and achievement. This role would suit a person looking for experience in the design and technology field, or a highly experienced individual looking to impart their knowledge and skills to the next generation. Previous experience of working within a similar environment is preferable. Industrial experience would also be desirable but not essential. Applicants must be committed to working directly with young people. Among your duties you will be expected to prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons, to maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and to maintain and monitor consumables (materials) and equipment within the department. Training will be provided where required.Job DescriptionAn opportunity is available to join the staff of a popular and high achieving 11-16 Church of England Academy. The Academy opened as a new build school in September 2003 with an intended capacity of 600 students. In 2019 Governors commenced the expansion of their student intake from 150 to 180 each year to achieve a revised net capacity of 900.The Academy can offer:

  • NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline OR appropriate experience
  • Induction/basic skills.
