Design Manager (Construction)Location: Stockton, Warwickshire Salary £40k - £50k per year + £5000 Car Allowance Monday - FridayOur client, a prominent construction company with an extensive property and land portfolio, is seeking a talented Design Manager to join their team. We welcome applications from individuals who have experience as a Design Manager, Design Coordinator, Design and Build Manager, or specialist Project Manager overseeing design-related matters on constructionprojects.The Role:As the Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the project design team, which includes consultants and specialist subcontractors. Your primary responsibility will be to support the construction team in developing efficient design proposalsfor multiple concurrent projects.In this role, you will have the autonomy to manage the design delivery of projects while seeking guidance from senior colleagues to determine strategy and receive support for larger projects. This position is ideal for a post-graduate with a related degree,who is ambitious and eager to advance their career in design management, taking on the responsibility of effectively managing the design process for projects.Duties:

• Analyse design brief and tender information.
• Identify and oversee design risks and opportunities.
• Develop the design management strategy for projects.
• Examine construction detailing and building methodology.
• Participate in value engineering and construction methodology reviews.
• Contribute to the selection process of designers, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
• Ensure project design aligns with the brief, contract, employers requirements, building control regulations, and current legislation.
• Coordinate the creation and upkeep of a design management plan, in collaboration with the overall construction program.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Proven experience in overseeing external design teams.
• Experience in providing support to projects from the bidding stage to project delivery.
• Proficient in leading and managing internal teams.
• Demonstrated awareness of health and safety practices.
• Pragmatic approach and ability to adapt to unforeseen changes in planned activities.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
