North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust Care Group 2 - Responsive CareIn Hospital Care DirectorateConsultant Physician General Medicine and Care of the ElderlyApplications are invited for the post of Consultant Physician in Stroke and Care of the Elderly Medicine at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work with our exciting and enthusiastic Acute Stroke and Care of the Elderly teams. We have a very proactive multidisciplinary approach within the department to facilitate comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA), rapid discharge and rehabilitation. Outpatient services are within our successful dedicated outpatient units providing rapid access, TIA, general elderly care and falls clinics at both North Tees and Hartlepool Hospital sites.This is a replacement post based within the University Hospital of North Tees.There is also the opportunity for research experience within the Department.North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is a progressive, forward thinking organisation, providing acute and community services to the population of Stockton-on Tees, Hartlepool, East Durham and the surrounding areas including a large part of Sedgefield, with a budget of £141 million and 4770 employees.The post will be offered for 10 PA’s under the Terms and Conditions of Service for Consultants (England) 2003. Although the post is tenable on a whole time basis, any applicant who, for personal reasons is unable to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post.Candidates should be fully registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register for Care of the elderly medicine consideration will also be given to candidates with GIM/Acute Medicine with Stroke Training (or within 6 months of CST at interview).
