The role will commence January 2021 and run until the end of the academic year with the potential to be made permanent depending on your success in the role.About the roleThe class consists of approximately 30 pupils of mixed ability with a small minority being EAL learners. The reception team support an effective continuous provision approach to learning where pupils are supported through a range of activities based on clear skills in line with the EYFS progression framework. You will be required to provide the perfect balance of directed activities and monitor pupil progress scaffolding and stretching tasks accordingly.Experience working with SEN pupils (specifically autism) will be advantageous and you will also be joined by a full time SNA who is very experienced supporting children across Reception.About the SchoolThe school strives to provide an educational experience that focuses upon positive academic outcomes with enjoyment and participation being the central elements to success.The school was most recently judged Good by OFSTED and this success was largely due to the experienced Headteacher and dedicated Senior Leadership Team who work harmoniously to devise effective action plans contributing to whole school improvement. As a result, you will receive high-quality in house CPD throughout the course of the academic year. As the Reception Class Teacher, your roles and responsibilities will include:-Planning activities that are in line with the EYFS framework and allow for creativity and exploration-Differentiating activities to scaffold and stretch learners allowing pupils as individual learners to maximise their potential-Effectively reflect on provision to assess what worked well and what can be improved adjusting activities as necessary to drive learning forward-Monitor pupils social, emotional and behavioural development-Track pupil progress and evidence learning through individual student portfolios providing feedback in relation to tasks and outcomes-Work well as an individual as well as part of a team and be open to ideas from others as well as sharing knowledge and understanding of your own area of expertise-Ensure activities cater for visual, audio and kinaesthetic learners and utilise outdoor areas to enhance learning through play-Contribute to extra-curricular clubs and attend wider school events in the local communityThe school is well known in Stockport due to strong relationships with local families. It has shown significant growth in academic achievement over recent years particularly in reading and writing and now aims to build on these successes. To be considered for the Reception Class Teacher role, you must:-Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching certificate-Have a minimum of 2 years teaching in an early years setting (Reception - highly desirable)-Have excellent references to support prior teaching experience in EYFS-Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
