Job Description

Are you target driven Do you have experience accelerating pupil progress across the core subjects Tradewind are recruiting an experienced SATS teacher!Tradewind are looking to recruit an experienced KS2 teacher with SATS experience to join a fantastic school in a diverse community in Stockport. This role which is a fixed-term contract will commence January 2021 and run until the end of the academic year. Applicants with KS2 experience and specifically Year 6 are warmly encouraged to apply. Regrettably, on this occasion, the school will not consider applications from NQTs.This is a high performing school which was most recently judged Good by OFSTED and was particularly praised for school-wide good behaviour and significant growth in progress scores in reading. A high percentage of children are working above age related expectations and this success is largely due to the experienced Headteacher who is passionate about their role and driven towards achieving desired goals.As the Year 6 teacher, your responsibilities will be but not limited to:*Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 6 class and comply with behaviour management, assessment and safeguarding policies*Complete detailed plans that align with National Curriculum standards and creating meaningful lessons that engage and inspire pupils*Plan clear steps to success with definitive criteria and ensure every learner has the opportunity to achieve lesson objectives*Build a positive rapport with all pupils and encourage children to take ownership and individual accountability for their learning*Differentiate lessons to both scaffold and stretch learners appropriately and plan targeted interventions across all core subjects to bridge gaps in learning*Keep up-to-date records of attainment and use pre and post assessments effectively to inform when to revisit/reteach and incorporate mini-plenaries into lessons*Liaise with the other Year 6 class teacher to plan targeted interventions to accelerate pupil progress and support pupils meeting age related expectations*Support pupils, behavioural, social and emotional wellbeing and ensure all children leave Year 6 being readily prepared for the transition to Secondary school.Experience working with SEND pupils (specifically autism and ADHD) will be beneficial to the role and you will also be joined by a full time HLTA who is experienced in Year 6 and very familiar with the curriculum.The school is well known in the area as a result of educational outcomes and this success is largely due to a very experienced Headteacher, supportive Senior Leadership team and hardworking staff.
