Job Description

English Teacher - StockportWe are specifically working with a secondary school in Stockport looking for a English Teacher, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them teaching English key stage 3 & 4 ASAP, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year ona full-time basis.You will be required to become fully immersed in the department, attend departmental meetings and be available for parents evenings as and when required. As well as deliver lessons that are both engaging and academically appropriate to stretch the studentsin the classes.The emphasis is on empowering students to notice, make connections, explain, justify, conjecture, prove. The school works hard to ensure that every member of the school community has access to a rich and diverse range of opportunities. The school offersmany sports including football, basketball, and badminton. However, the blubs do not stop there with debate club, Warhammer club and maths watch club. There are many extra curriculum activities that the English department run: Poetry By Heart - Competitionand Shakespeare By Heart - Competition.The role will be open to newly qualified teachers (ECT) as well as teachers who have more experience, we pay from M1 to M6 (sometimes we can also pay through threshold if you have done so, depending on the role).

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree educated with a good classification (2:2).
  • PGCE and QTS in English.
  • Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference).
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided).
  • Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided).
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided).
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional children related references
