Job Description

Tradewind are recruiting for a Communication Support Worker, CSW!Do you have prior experience supporting people with Hearing ImpairmentDo you have BSL Level 2 or above or are you fluent in BSL but without a formal qualificationWe are looking for a Communication Support Worker / CSW / BSL TA to support Hearing Impaired pupils in a primary school & a secondary school in the Stockport area.Hours would be 8:30am - 3:30pm with 30mins break.Regular day-to-day TA placements each week.Pay up to £90/day depending on experience & qualification.Supporting deaf young people with varying degrees of hearing impairment.Ideally you will have some prior experience supporting children or young adults with Hearing Impairment and have at least BSL L2 but candidates with BSL fluency without formal qualification will be considered.You will be required to support with translating teacher instructions, understanding and comprehension as well provide pastoral, social, emotional and behavioural support. At times you may need to assist with note taking and scribing.To join us and be successful in this Communication Support Worker role, you will need to:

  • Have BSL L2 or above or BSL fluency.
  • Have experience supporting children or young adults in some capacity in last 5 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one)
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
  • Minimum of two professional references checks.
  • Provide a CV with full history from education to present.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
