Job Description

Professional family with two boys seeking a full-time housekeeper with some Mothers help/babysitting duties as well. Responsibilities to include cooking, laundry, ironing, cleaning, shopping for the household and supporting the mother during the day whenneeded. One-two nights babysitting a week. Previous experience is not required but flexibility, common sense and a can-do attitude will go far in this household. Training can be provided but you must be naturally organised and take pride in your job. Smallone bedroom flat on premises. Location, Stapleford Tawney, Essex. Driving licence essential. Occasional international travel with family to support children. Job is full-time, live-in.DUTIES OF HOUSEKEEPER/NANNYCLEANING

  • Maintaining the cleaning of the house to a high standard, this include but is not limited to:
  • Vacuuming and mopping the floor.
  • Polishing the floors and skirtings.
  • Washing the carpets when needed.
  • Cleaning the windows.
  • Ensuring that the house is dusted weekly or more if needed.
  • Washing the children’s toys when needed.
  • Cleaning the bathrooms and toilets at least twice a week.
  • Changing the bedlinen for the adults and children weekly
  • Polishing the furniture, silverware, and glass ornaments weekly
  • Refilling the log basket and cleaning the fireplace in the winter.
LAUNDRY, IRONING AND WARDROBE MANAGEMENT
  • Ensuring that the laundry is done regularly.
  • Ironing the family’s clothes and packing it all away.
  • Ensure that the wardrobes stay neat.
  • Pack away the seasonal clothes.
  • Plan and manage your own schedule to ensure that you stay on top-off the laundry
COOKING AND KITCHEN
  • Prepare daily healthy meals for the family
  • Prepare snacks for the children
  • Assist with cooking whenever the family is entertaining.The family entertain regularly over weekends and depending on the size of the group might request you to work over-time on the weekend or prepare food in advance.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and tidy to a very high standard.
  • Clean the fridges and freezers regularly.
  • Grocery shop for the family.
THE DOGS:
  • Assist mom with feeding the three (sometimes four Daschunds if my sister’s girl is visiting).
  • We occasionally breed with our girls and once sometimes twice a year there are litters.
NANNY /MOTHERS HELP
  • Babysit one-two nights a week for family if needed.
  • At least two days a week babysitting during the day will be required. (Will not be full days).
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
  • The family travel regularly to South Africa, Dubai, Europe, Asia and the US of A. Occasional international travel might be expected of you. Depending on where we are travelling to, your role during this period might be more focussed on assisting the parentswith childcare.
  • Working hours while travelling will be different from regular hours when in UK and will be discussed before each trip.
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Must have a UK driving license.
  2. Strong organisational skills.
  3. Fair command of the English Language.
  4. Must love dogs and children.
  5. Excellent time management.
  6. Must have an eye for detail and must be house proud.
  7. Must be able to work unsupervised and create own patterns and schedules to complete duties.
  8. Must be flexible and not phased by short notice of plans changing.
  9. MUST BE ELLIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE UK.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  1. Must be able to cook and plan meals and grocery shopping in advance.
  2. Must be able to plan your own weekly schedule which incorporate all the weekly duties without fail.
  3. Is not faced by children and the chaos they leave in their wake…
  4. Must be able to clean the house to a high standard.
  5. Must be calm and not get stressed out easily.
  6. Must enjoy a busy and sometimes very noisy household.
  7. At times this job will be a challenge: The ideal candidate should enjoy the challenge and be able to thrive on succeeding.
WHAT WE OFFER:
  1. Subsidised accommodation on the premisses. A small furnished one-bedroom flat is available
  2. Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 16:30. 1 hour break during the day.
  3. Holidays: 20 paid holidays a year.

  6. Food: three meals a day during working hours as part of the food preparation for the family.

WHO ARE WEOur family consist out of Dad, Mom, two boys (4 & 1) and three small dogs. We live close to Greater London, in the countryside. Our nearest tube stations Theydon Bois and Debden on the eastbound Central Line are a ten-fifteen-minute drive by car. Once onthe tube it is a 30minute ride to Central London. The farm’ is in a lovely rural area with Epping and Loughton close by. Our neighbours all have horses and are lovely to be around.We run a very busy reactive maintenance company and work from home. The office is a separate building from the main house. We moved to The Farm, in June 2023 and are planning extensive renovation and building projects to the house over the next five years.We have a South African heritage and spend at least six-twelve weeks a year in South Africa. Our parents are elderly and one of the grandparents suffers from Alzheimer’s. It is important for us that our children understand their heritage and have a relationshipwith their grandparents.We like to think of ourselves as easy going but we expect high standards and commitment. We value old-fashioned traditional values such as a good work ethic, honesty, sound values and taking pride in yourself and your work.
