Job Description

Your local Driver Hire office is seeking a Quality Inspector to work in our clients manufacturing facility in the Stanton area. This is a permanent job opportunity. Immediate start preferred.The roleYour local Bury St Edmunds Driver Hire office has an immediate requirement for a Quality Inspector. The QC Inspector will be responsible for the day to day activities that govern the function of the QA Department. They will perform measurements of all parts requiring quality checks, maintain gauge calibration status within the organisation and conduct and assist with statistical studies where required. The inspector’s role is to carrying on improving and implementing process change to ensure repetitive mistakes are minimised.Previous CNC machine experience is essential as is the ability to check machines parts for quality during the production process.Job requirements

  • Experience in the use of calibration activities, reading micrometres, bore micrometres, welding gauges and hardness testing equipment
  • Non-conformance reports/rejections and associated Root Cause Analysis
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Final component and assembly inspection, sub: contractor supplied parts and incoming raw materials
  • Assist in collection of statistical data as required
  • Weld inspection
  • Computer literate in excel and word
    • Desirable skills

  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to work in a high pressure tempo environment
  • Strong general Core Inspection skills and experiences

  • up to £25,350 salary pa, equivalent to £12.50 per hour, depending on experience
  • Full time permanent position
  • Standard working week 08:00 - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 08:00 - 3:00pm
  • 20 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, plus 5 days given to be taken between Christmas and New Year
