They consider that their aims for their pupils are best achieved through a close partnership between school and home, and they work together with parents to ensure their daughters success.The roleThe School are looking for a specialist Sociology Teacher; a capable practitioner, to continue the already strong teaching that has been offered in the department. Ideally you will have a track record of delivering high quality, engaging lessons that are rich in content and made relevant by relating to world issues. Many of the students go on to Russell Group Universities and they want to ensure that their progress towards this goal is facilitated. A Level teaching experience is essential so that you can seamlessly take over after half term. You will be working in a collaborative department that has a strong pool of resources available. You will also teach some Key Stage 4 Sociology, making this a full time teaching position. Only a specialist Sociology Teacher need apply.This position starts in September 2021 and is offered on a full time, permanent basis.Person Specification
  • You will need to hold a recognised teaching qualification in the UK, to include QTS (or an appropriate overseas qualification leading to obtaining QTS), trained and qualified as a Sociology Teacher.
  • The school are keen to hear from experienced teachers, especially at Key Stages 4 & 5, if you have had experience teaching a range of syllabus on the National Curriculum then that would be an advantage.
  • Confidence in your ability to plan, prepare and deliver lessons for mixed ability pupils at GCSE and A Level.
  • A good team player, who has a can do attitude and sense of humour
