The company has an embedded safety culture, technically challenging work across the different parts of the business and some of the best training available in the energy industry.The RoleWe currently have an exciting opportunity for a determined, focussed and enthusiastic individual to take the next step in their career. The company will support the successful candidate to progress through the required educational and developmental stages to become a Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer.A Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer is responsible for delivering reliability improvement and technical support to the production and support units, across the business, for all rotating equipment. Work will include activities such as leading site wide reliability processes, completing root cause analysis investigations, driving through corrective actions to avoid repeat failures and working with and influencing maintenance and operations teams to share and implement best practice.Additionally, the role holder will work towards becoming a site Rotating Equipment Inspector (responsible for defining written schemes of inspection’ and inspecting major reciprocating compressors and steam turbines) as well as offer technical support/leadership for the overhaul of major rotating equipment during site overhauls.The site is geographically large and has over 3,000 items of rotating equipment including pumps, fans, steam turbines, compressors (reciprocating, centrifugal, axial), expanders, mixers, gearboxes, motors.Our ideal candidate should:

  • have a Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • be a Chartered Engineer (or working towards that goal)
  • have 5 - 10 years relevant rotating equipment experience in a petrochemical environment.
  • You should also have:
  • strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, industry standards and good practice applicable to rotating equipment
  • good understanding of the principles of operation and maintenance of typical equipment and ancillary systems
  • good working knowledge and experience of reliability monitoring and improvement processes
  • relevant experience of technically supporting and leading significant rotating equipment maintenance
  • strong influencing/coaching skills
  • good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • good time management
  • the ability to multi-task to deliver results
  • IT literacy (including the use of SAP or a similar business management tool).
