Job Description

Job Title: IT TechnicianSalary: Up to £28,000We are seeking a dedicated individual with a fervor for technology and its role in supporting academic and operational functions. This position is part of the technical support team under the guidance of the Head of IT and Data, offering 1st and 2nd linesupport. Applicants should possess a solid understanding of IT technologies, backed by a minimum of 2 years of prior experience. The primary responsibility will be to provide support to staff and pupil devices, catering to all users within the Stamford Schoolscommunity.Person Specification:Essential:

  • A minimum of two years experience in an IT Technical support role.
  • Proven experience in delivering services aligned with customer needs.
  • Proficiency in supporting Office 365 (User, Groups, Azure AD, and MFA).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work within tight timeframes.
  • Sound working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11, Office 365 management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Autopilot and Endpoint Manager (Intune, Security, and Updates).
  • Capacity to design compelling training materials, encompassing presentations, tutorials, videos, and hands-on exercises.
  • Stay current with the latest updates and features of Microsoft Teams, Office suite, and relevant technologies.
  • Excellent customer service skills, understanding the needs of students, staff, parents, and carers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work independently.
  • Analytical skills and a systematic, methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Conscientious, dependable, calm, organized, and methodical.
  • Enthusiastic about learning new skills and committed to continuous personal development.
Desirable:
  • Degree level or equivalent.
  • Relevant IT qualifications, e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA.
  • Experience in education (primary, secondary, post-16, or alternative provision).
  • Experience in configuring/monitoring networks, telephony, and wireless systems.
  • Proficient in Windows 10 management and deployment.
  • Experience in supporting Apple devices (iMacs and iPads) in a Windows networked environment.
  • Proficiency with AV systems, including staging, lighting, and sound.
  • Ability to assess training needs of staff and develop comprehensive training programs.
