Have you experience in Quality Engineering or Mechanical Inspection and would like to work for a stable and profitable business who are investing for the futureI am working for a specialist precision engineering business who manufacturer components for the Defence sector. The company is looking to add to its internal Quality team so they are seeking a MECHANICAL INSPECTOR / QUALITY TECHNICIAN to join the business immediately.The role will be to monitor the quality of manufactured components utilising a range of metrology equipment (mics, verniers, shadowgraps, gauges. CMMs test rigs, DMMs etc). Components are precision manufactured to high specifications by the company themselves or manufactured by the companys 3rd party suppliers dependant on the needs of the project. You will have responsibility for quality at any stage of the manufacturing process which includes final inspection before dispatch. This will involve visual and dimensional checking, functional testing and some electrical testing using a DMM or similar.The role covers various responsibilities which includes creating reports relating to quality issues i.e. defect reports to assess where components can be reworked or require scrapping or FAI Reports, liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, calibration of the metrology equipment and gauge control, training and the promotion of good practice within the manufacturing departmentIt is essential that you are able to demonstrate these elements to be successful in the role:
