Job Description

Science Teacher

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Woking
  • Salary: MPS/UPS
We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join our team, teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ideal candidate will be a graduate with qualified teacher status in science and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenand young people. Day to Day of the role:
  • Delivering engaging science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Developing and utilising a range of teaching resources to enhance student learning.
  • Employing effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high standards of discipline and achievement.
  • Planning and organising lessons with clear objectives to ensure effective learning.
  • Utilising ICT and new technologies, including Smartboards, to promote interactive learning.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the science department’s resources.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Graduate with qualified teacher status for science.
  • Experience in successfully teaching science across Key Stages.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and at least two science disciplines.
  • Good ICT skills and a willingness to use new technologies in teaching.
  • Excellent organisational and personal management skills.
  • Ability to create new teaching resources and use initiative to enhance learning.
  • Effective time-management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of health and safety issues in a classroom setting.
  • Desirable: Awareness of current issues and developments in science education, including changes to the KS4 specification.
