Job Description

Due to continued growth my client is looking to bring a skilled and experienced Fulfilment Optimisation Manager to their team based in Staffordshire.My client is a leading retailer who are looking for a Fulfillment Optimisation Manager to join their team in Staffordshire.The key responsibilities link to the Fulfilment Optimisation Manager are including but no limited to the following.As the Fulfilment Optimisation Manager, you will be responsible for optimising our order fulfilment processes to meet customer demands efficiently while minimising costs and maximising profitability. You will lead cross-functional initiatives to improveinventory management, warehouse operations, and transportation logistics, leveraging data-driven insights and innovative strategies to drive continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimise order fulfilment processes, including order processing, inventory allocation, and shipment scheduling.
  • Analyse order patterns, demand forecasts, and inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and minimise order processing times.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including supply chain, operations, and IT, to streamline work flows and enhance system integration for seamless order processing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, storage configurations, and material handling practices to increase efficiency and reduce fulfilment lead times.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics related to order fulfilment, inventory management, and customer service, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Evaluate carrier performance and transportation costs, negotiating contracts and rates to optimise shipping logistics and reduce transportation expenses.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to address fulfilment challenges and improve process reliability.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in fulfilment optimisation, implementing innovative solutions to drive competitive advantage.
The successful candidate of the Fulfilment Optimisation Manager based in Staffordshire will have the following experience, skills and characteristics.
  • Bachelors degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics operations, or fulfilment optimisation, with a focus on driving process improvements and achieving operational excellence.
  • Strong analytic skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau) to derive insights and inform decision-making.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, coupled with a results-driven approach to achieving business objectives.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and other relevant software applications.
  • Experience in e-commerce fulfilment, retail logistics, or similar industries is a plus.
