Job Description

Domestic Abuse Practitioner (Moving on support)£13,933 a yearStaffordshire MoorlandsPart Time - 22 Hours Per WeekPermanentAs a specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner (move on) you’ll support individuals and families within our clients safe accommodation services to become tenancy ready and safely move on into settled accommodation. You’ll provide a tailored, person-centredsupport package to help customers achieve their goals and live a life free from abuse.Job requirements

  • Prepare customers to move on from safe accommodation services and deliver support, both in groups and one-to-one, to enable them to manage their own tenancy.
  • Support customers to set up their own home, assisting them to set up utility accounts and other household obligations.
  • Provide housing management and welfare benefit support and guidance, as well as signposting and making referrals to appropriate agencies.
  • Establish and maintain quality working relationships to enable multi-agency support.
  • Work alongside our clients colleagues, as well as external partners, to increase the number and range of properties available to customers moving on from safe accommodation services.
What they’re looking for
  • Someone with experience delivering housing support to customers, all while recognising individual needs.
  • Someone with a genuine understanding of people in abusive relationships.
  • Someone up to date with current issues and laws within the domestic abuse sector, welfare reform and homelessness.
  • Good ICT, communication and time management skills.
  • Experience handling personal data in line with GDPR.
  • Someone with a full UK driving license and use of own vehicle for work.
