Job Description

StorespersonJob RoleRecruitmint are working with an established Engineering company near St Neots to recruit a Stores person for assisting and organising the arrival, storage and issuing of material movements in and around the workshop.Reporting to Material Controller your responsibilities will be:-

  • Cycle counting for high moving stock items once per week
  • Collate all materials for each job on to one pallet
  • Packing small orders for delivery
  • To process incoming deliveries in a timely fashion, ensuring they are stored in appropriate places and delivery notes are available to the office
  • Ensuring that we have sufficient level of packaging materials
  • Full stocktake at year end and mid-year.
  • Loading and unloading goods with a forklift
  • Completing various paperwork - i.e., stock lists,collection/delivery notes, goods in checks/rejections etc.
  • Loading/unloading various bottled gases - checking and advising on when gases need to be replenished& swap gas bottle on fork truck
  • Updating weights on racking when adding/removing stock& visually checking racking once per month
  • Empty tipper bins when required and move all rubbish
  • Check materials kept in the yard and ensure list is updated when goods come in and go out
Person Specification
  • Previous experience of stores, packing and material handling
  • Forklift operator certificate is essential
  • Willingness to be flexible and enthusiastic with approach to work.
  • Quality conscious with attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy beneficial
Hours of Work
  • Days7.30 to 5pm with 30 min unpaid lunch break - 45hr week
  • Salary up to £13.00/hour DOE
  • Own transport essential (due to location)
  • Overtime at time and a half
