Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer St Neots Competitive Salary + bonus My client who are global recognised business and leader within their industry are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their St Neots facility on a permanent basis.The RoleMechanical Design Engineer To take accountability and responsibility for developing and producing 3D models of hydraulic assemblies and producing general arrangement drawings. To design bespoke reservoirs, frames and hydraulic manifolds and produce detailed drawings for manufacture.

  • Produce 3D models and general arrangement drawings of hydraulic assemblies.
  • Produce detail drawings for manufacture.
  • Select materials for construction with consideration to corrosion, temperature, pressure, force etc.
  • Assist with quote and concept designs work to aid selling.
  • When required be involved with researching, developing, and maintaining in-house engineering and technical standards.
  • Be involved with the review and approval process of others work, documenting the process has taken place and marking up as required.
Experience and QualificationsMechanical Design Engineer
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering or proven relevant experience
  • Experience using Creo 3D would be preferable, however other packages will be considered
  • Good knowledge of 3D modelling of parts and assemblies
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally fabrication and machining
  • Ability to produce both hand calculations and computational simulations
