Job Description

  • Responsible for the delivery of information services to a significant part of the Trust’s business, ensuring that managers and clinicians have the information that they require to deliver the highest quality and most appropriate services to patients.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely production and delivery of all clinical unit reports, via using knowledge of analytical processes such as SPC and use of analytical and reporting software and platforms such as SQL, Excel, SSRS and Power BI.
  • Work to develop and write monthly Trust Information Performance Reports
  • Lead on either and / or Elective Care / Emergency Care, managing waiting time analysis, RTT, Capacity and Demand, Front Door emergency pathways and patient flow. Represent Information Management and Performance in key stakeholder meetings.
  • Work with Head of Information in developing short, medium and long term activity plans and strategic direction for the Trust.
  • Develop Capacity and demand models, work with Operational leads to analysis their capacity against expected Demand and help develop delivery plans.
  • Setting, maintaining and monitoring of the Trust’s strategic long term activity plan.
  • Present information, analysis and insight at key Trust meetings to all levels of the organisation, including the executive team.
  • Maintain knowledge of all Trust information, including that not directly produced or held by the Information Management team. Thus, possess the ability to answer challenging questions accurately and spontaneously on a wide range of healthcare informatics based areas.
  • Responsible for ensuring that high quality information analysis is available to support the delivery of service improvements.
  • Possesses in-depth specialist knowledge of information analysis and the use of information across the NHS.
  • Responsible for leading a small team of analysts, ensuring that they are effectively providing reporting, information and intelligence needs to clinical units and the Trust’s corporate functions.
  • To develop and maintain processes to ensure data-submissions to SUS, NHSI and CCGs are made in accordance with national and locally agreed protocols and timetables.
  • To develop and maintain processes to ensure internal routine reporting needs are met in a timely way.
  • Responsible for office equipment used /authorises time sheets for staff, travel expenses.
  • Responsible for all aspects of information management, including the quality of data captured, and the provision of information to support planning, operation and performance management.
  • Communication and Relationships Communicates conclusions drawn from, and implications of results from statistical and performance analyses to a wide range of internal and external staff, guiding them on a certain course of action whilst conveying complex analytical concepts clearly as well as the development and delivery of formal, complex analytical presentations to large groups.

  • Formulates long- term, strategic plans, involving uncertainty that impact across the whole organisation. Post Holder will work with Head of Information on the production of detailed strategic planning forecasts for the Trust; this will mean developing, structuring and scheduling plans. Strategic plans extend 1, 5 and 10 years.
  • Develop Capacity and Demand models and work with clinical leads to develop delivery plans.
  • Project management/ prepares plans/strategies for information aspects of any business area; contributes to planning and formulation of strategies for the development of the service.
  • Responsible for the day to day management, including recruitment, appraisal, discipline, training and career development of the Information Analysts within your team.
