Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Strategic Improvement and Transformation Lead/equivalent to join our healthcare clients organisation.Senior Strategic Improvement and Transformation LeadLocation: St Ives Hybrid remote working and working from Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire basesJob Type: TemporaryDuration of booking: This is a temporary role for 3 months and likely to be longer.Proposed start date: ASAPSector: HealthcareBase: HospitalBand: 8BPay Rates: £27.00- £31.00 paye per hour£31.00 - £36.00 paye inclusive of holiday pay per hour£35.00- £41.00 umbrella per hourAll depending on skill and experienceWorking Days and Hours: : 22.5-37.5hrs per week, Hybrid roleJob Purpose: Supporting the Assistant Director of Improvement and Transformation, this role will take a lead for providing advanced specialist redesign expertise to the organisation. Leading on large scale and key strategic transformation programmes across the organisationand in collaboration with system partners delivering sustainable, innovative, and effective changes to improve the services we provide.Reporting to the Assistant Director, the post holder will provide senior specialist redesign expertise for complex redesign issues, deploying the appropriate improvement science/change management approach and techniques, identify, design, and implement targetedimprovement initiatives and ensuring measurable positive impacts on patient outcomes and organisational effectiveness.Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and lead the implementation of large-scale transformation programmes, aligning initiatives with organisational objectives and system priorities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to transformation, fostering engagement and commitment across the organisation and system partners.
  • Design the transformation blueprint for change, identifying interdependencies, impact measures/benefits, resources, timescales, risk, issues, and assumptions.
  • Produce highly complex and comprehensive reports regarding delivery, progress, risks, issues, and decisions required presenting these to senior and executive forums as appropriate.
  • Identify, collaborate, and work with internal teams and partners to source resource required to deliver the programme/s.
  • Identify, plan, and ensure analysis of highly complex data and intelligence to inform the design and delivery of the programme/s including advising and collaborating with data scientists on modelling analysis required.
  • Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information to senior managers, clinical and operational staff and external agencies/partners. Requiring high level skills in negotiation, persuasion, motivation, and reassurance.
  • Represent the Trust at senior system transformation forums and meetings, engaging, participating in transformation initiatives, representing and advocating for the Trust’s portfolio of services and supporting the delivery of system wide improvements tolocal healthcare services.
  • Act as the lead expert and advisor on redesign and improvement science.
  • Leverage advanced subject matter expertise in improvement science, change management, and programme management to offer guidance to senior leaders on strategic improvement and transformation goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong networks and senior partnerships to support the delivery of successful transformation programmes and organisational improvement capability.
  • Identify and lead stakeholder engagement for areas with significant service change, establishing groups and forums to develop and implement the required changes ensuring a genuinely co-produced approach is employed.
  • Present both verbal and in written format updates/business cases/reports to senior/executive groups and large workforce groups on transformations planned and underway. Demonstrating excellent communication skills, ability to influence and persuasive skills.
  • Facilitate multi-agency workshops, designing and delivering sessions to foster collaboration, achieve objectives, and demonstrate the ability to influence, motivate, and manage challenging situations.
  • Escalate and receive escalation on the improvement and transformation portfolio led/supported by the team, ensuring a responsive and collaborative approach to address challenges.
Essential skills, qualification, and experience:
  • Educated to master’s degree level or able to demonstrate experience to this level.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development/education and learning.
  • Improvement methodology qualification (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) or accredited training.
  • Programme/project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE 2, Agile, MSP).
  • Experience of successfully delivering large scale and complex redesign programmes in either the private or public sector.
  • Extensive experience of improvement science, change management, service design/inclusive design methodologies/techniques to successfully design complex improvement initiatives.
  • Experience of designing and fostering a culture of innovation and improvement within teams and across organisations including building improvement capability.
  • Experience of senior level engagement, forming networks and strong relationships with key stakeholders/partners.
