Job Description

Front-End Developer is required for marketing disrupting online marketplace.£70k - £75k - Remote role with monthly visit to office.Technology overview.Technology stack is based on a new technology platform Ruby, Ruby on Rails with Postgresql as well as our legacy platform a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) technologies, complimented by AWS Lambdas implemented in Node.js. They have recently re-platformedto a modern cloud-based microservices infrastructure built in Ruby hosted with Heroku.Youll have

  • 3+ years of industry experience in a software engineering role within an agile development environment, and a proven track record of delivering value to your team and customers.
  • Wide-ranging front-end development experience, with deep knowledge and experience in HTML5, CSS/SASS, Javascript/JQuery, AJAX, responsive design, and browser compatibility
  • Solid experience of Ruby and Ruby on Rails with exposure to other mainstream technologies (e.g. PHP)
  • Experience of Heroku and AWS services, especially Postgres, Redis and S3.
  • Experience with implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience of using Github and Bitbucket.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, reach compromises and find solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building scalable, complex, fault-tolerant, secure solutions.
  • Ability to prepare and present technical documentation, reports and diagrams.
  • Appreciation for development best practices, including SOLID, design patterns, clean code, TDD and CI/CD.
