Job Description

Our client is a leading manufacturer, making special purpose machinery within the food manufacturing industry. We are looking to engage with candidates who have experience within Engineering that are confident in taking projects from order through to delivery. This is a hands-on role that will provide technical support throughout the process.Start: ASAPLocation: St Ives, CambridgeshireHours: Flexible to start between 8am - 8.30am and finish between 4.30pm - 5.30pmSalary: £45,000Benefits: 20 days + 8 bank holidays, NEST Pension, Employee Assistance Programme, flexible working hours with the option to take 30-minute lunchbreak and start and finish earlier or later.To be suitable for this position you will have experience of Project Management within an Engineering role, as this role is to provide Technical Support alongside managing the projects t is essential that you have Engineering experience. You will be confident in the use of AutoCAD Solidworks for creation of drawings and experience within food industry equipment would be a distinct advantage.Duties:

  • Take ownership of projects from order through to delivery
  • Providing technical support to all teams throughout project timelines
  • Managing customer and internal sales relationships and expectations for smooth project delivery
  • Identification of possible problems and taking action where required to resolve
  • Producing layout drawings
  • Identifying and specifying all mechanical/electrical components within the scope of project
  • Managing stakeholders’ expectations both internally and externally
  • Ensuring compliance with specified project budgets and risk assessment protocols
  • Using expertise to support technical issues and develop project process
  • Throughout lifetime of project, proactively identify any changes to the original scope of supply
  • Using knowledge for interrogation of product design
  • Identifying and documenting cost savings, lean manufacturing/process improvements
  • Taking full responsibility for project audit process
    • Key Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in a Project Engineering position
  • Methodical working approach
  • Strong customer facing personality
  • Ability to create AutoCAD and Solidworks drawings
  • Experience in the food industry, or food industry equipment an advantage
