Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a fast-growing business. We are based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, next to the guided bus station in St Ives. We provide insurance for specialist vehicles.This is a role that will see you oversee reception, maintenance & post room duties. The candidate will be based on the reception desk in our St Ives office. You will be the face of the St Ives office so must always be professional.This role will suit someone who is confident and outgoing. Monday-Friday can be flexible with hours. 37.5 hours per week.Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Welcoming/greeting, announcing, directing visitors and handling company enquiries.
  • Oversee the post room, ensuring all post in packed and ready to leave the business. Ensuring we meet our SLAs.
  • General building maintenance, such as, hanging TVs, building/dismantling desks, chairs and office equipment. Completing minor plumbing repairs such as fixing dripping taps etc.
  • Communicating, organising, and overseeing maintenance work, cleaning, gardening and any other tasks required to for the upkeep of the building and the grounds. This will involve liaising with external companies and senior management.
  • General building management, examples of this are timers for floodlights in the car park and overseeing utility services for the building.
  • Organising, setting up computers and any electric kit and in addition to keeping a company log of equipment being used. Along with internet connection and minor server room changes.
  • Management of access fobs to the building, setting up for new starters, de activating for leavers.
  • Oversee the general upkeep of the work van – Services/MOTS/ Repair works – Must hold a Full UK driving licence.
  • General tidying/upkeep of the office – Tidy cables/equipment in good working order, no broken shelves/ unsightly repairs. Repairs to any blind breakages/Carpet lifting or staining.
  • To ensure adequate stationary remains in stock.
  • Assist office administrator where required.
  • Assist with other projects/tasks within the business when/if required.
