My client based in St Ives Cambridgeshire are currently recruiting for a Development Technician to join their busy team on a full-time permanent basis. This is a permanent position 37.5 hours per week with agile working hours. This is a challenging role, requiring you to diagnose and repair machines both new and old and in various states of health. The work would suit a someone who has had considerable experience in software and electronics. Duties: To aid in the development of the products Setting up tests / experiments of new sensor types, conducting tests using PC controlled equipment to manage & monitor test conditions and to record results. Basic analysis of results; lines of best fit, trends etc. Programming software tools to aid / automate testing and production tasks. Skills: Eye for detail. Understanding of digital communication protocols, for example: I2C / RS232 / ModBUS / CanBus Excel Macros / VBA. VB.net a bonus. Other languages considered. Understanding of electronics / circuit diagrams.
