Job Description

We have a great opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic Warehouse Assistant to join our team at JPS St Helens, Merseyside!This role is working with JPS (Jewson Partnership Solutions) who specialise in providing building materials for our customers in the Public Sector such as Housing Associations and Local Authorities. Our branch exclusively supplies productsto HMS (Housing Maintenance Solutions) Merseyside.JPS are part of STARK Group, who are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftspeople who build, renovate, and maintain thecities of tomorrow.Is this role right for meAs a Warehouse Assistant, this role has a strong focus on stock management, as well as supporting in other areas of the branch, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with their team and customers and enjoys anactive and varied role. The person were looking for will have:

  • A flexible approach to work
  • A great team player; ready to support colleagues and customers when needed
  • A confident communicator, both over the phone and in branch
  • Previous forklift experience is beneficial, although training will be provided!
  • A full clean driving license would be a benefit, but is not essential
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am-4:00pm and Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (No weekend work!)Location: Lancots Lane, Unit 1, Sutton Fold, St Helens, WA9 3EX (HMS Warehouse)What will I be doingYou will use your dedication and enthusiasm to undertake a multi-skilled role covering the warehouse, yard, and occasional delivery driver duties. Most of your time will be spent working in the warehouse to manage incoming and outgoing deliveries and keepinga close eye on stock levels. This will include picking, packing, loading or unloading ready for delivery for our customers.Your day to day duties will be to:
  • Maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts
  • Pick and pack customer orders ready for collection or delivery
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of vehicles - using a forklift where needed
  • Check incoming stock deliveries and put away in appropriate area
  • Getting to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions
  • Develop great relationships with new and existing customers (both face to face and over the phone)
  • Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
  • Deliver a wide variety of products to our customers using a 3.5T Transit Van
  • Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
