Job Description

Sanctuary Personnel have an exciting Locum opportunity available for an experienced Social Worker to join a well-established Adults service based in St. HelensTeam/Specialism: Working Age ServicePay Rate: £22 per hour (assignment rate)Contract: Locum, 3-MonthsHours: Full-timeThe Working Age Service is one of the Social Work teams within St Helens Council. The team undertakes social care assessments for people under the age of 67 who have a learning disability, physical disability or enduring mental health. The team is also responsiblefor the statutory function of the Mental Health Act 1983 and runs the AMHP rota, this operates up to 8pm on a week day. As a member of the team you will be expected to undertake social care assessments, reviews, safeguarding enquiries, duty and AMHP support.The team also undertakes a lot of legal work, COP applications, CTOs, S117 meetings, Mental Health tribunal and ward rounds. The work is complex in nature but you will be supported with monthly supervision, informal support when required, appraisals and regularteam meetings. There is also a wide range of training available. The team works under the hybrid model and you will be able to access the hub via a booking system, you will be provided with the necessary equipment to enable you to work hybrid.Benefits of working for Sanctuary Personnel:

Requirements of the Social Worker:
  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant frontline experience in Adults Services
