With just over a third of our sales in Europe, around a third are in Japan and the rest primarily in North and South America,South East Asia and China.An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual with a Mechanical Engineering background to join the Engineering team based at the Greengate site to be responsible for all aspects of the maintenance on the Greengate Float Production Processand all associated plant, buildings, services and vehicles.The duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance; inspection and calibration; fault finding and diagnostics in emergency breakdown or planned situations; modification and improvement of plant; hazard identification and elimination; supervisionof trainees and contractors; team-based problem solving; training and improvement activities; project co-ordination and administration of maintenance systems.It will be necessary to work unsupervised for extended periods and therefore individuals should be capable of identifying, generating, and managing their own workload, working flexibly across all functions.This is a day engineering role, and the successful applicant may in future be required to work at either Float site in St Helens and/or work alternative shift patterns in the future (for which additional payments will be made) in order to satisfy operationalrequirements.Candidates will have completed a relevant Engineering Apprenticeship and be qualified to NVQ Level 3, with proven experience within a similar technical role. They must be able to work co-operatively as part of a team, including instructing/coaching colleaguesin areas of their own expertise, and be prepared to work flexibly to respond to changing demands. A detailed knowledge of a range of specialised equipment and processes including the associated safety requirements and emergency procedures is required and appropriatetraining will be given where necessary.
