You can view our YouTube video to see more about our work Job descriptionThe ChallengeTHE ROLE This is an exciting/fantastic/ challenging vacancy for a Building & Civil Engineering professional, to join a supporting and exciting organisation in the Defence Infrastructure Organisation. DIO Regional Delivery (RD) Total Facilities Management (TFM) Central Region, manages the delivery of DIO contracted hard and soft facilities management and key relationship management with senior users, key suppliers and other elements of DIO Operations, in particular the Regional Support Team (RST) and Major Programmes and Projects (MPP) to deliver DIO outputs that support military capability. It also includes close working with other areas of Regional Delivery, in particular the Training Estate and Service Accommodation. As DIO continues to develop as an organisation, we are currently considering how best to transform the business to enable us to better focus on delivering efficient services to our customer and to make DIO a great organisation to work for. LocationDIO Regional Delivery are based across the UK including MOD St Athan near Barry, Credenhill, Hereford & The Barracks, Brecon. We offer a flexible base location for this role and will therefore make one of these locations your duty station where possible. Where this is not possible, we will look to assign an alternative MOD establishment as your duty station. Work location will be agreed once the successful candidate has been selected.ResponsibilitiesMain ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the Area technical team based in Wales & Herefordshire, the successful candidate will be a key stakeholder supporting the pan Regional Technical Team (RTT), contributing to the wider technical aspects that affect the MOD estate. The RTT consists of a matrix of specialist functions including Mech & Elec, Build & Civil Eng, Quantity Surveying and Energy Advice. The incumbent will be responsible for progressing in a collaborative manner, construction projects with our Industry partner, Amey. Works may consist of new builds, refurbishments of existing assets or minor infra work up to the value of circa £4M in support of military capability. The successful candidate will have a responsibility for ensuring progress is maintained throughout the procurement process and through delivery. There will be a requirement to provide specialist B&CE technical advice and guidance to Estates Facility Managers (EFM), working on military establishments across Wales and Herefordshire. Be engaging with industry in an agile & collaborative environment with the key objectives of; • Establishing the correct technical solution, • Maintaining estate statutory compliance, • Advising on value for money of firm prices received from industry partner, whether via PSA schedule of rates or quotation based. • Assurance of delivery of allocated projects. Other duties include; • Engaging on customer forums advising with functional issues affecting the MoD Estate, • Liaising with other function Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure product delivery. • Providing DIO colleagues with professional technical advice. • Maintaining currency through Continual Professional Development (CPD) and Industry knowledge • Assurance of the existing Hard FM contract • Delivery of the Command Infrastructure Delivery Plan (CIDP) agreed by the TLBs to support or enhance military capability. • Provides specialist Energy advice and reporting. Travel RequirementsTravel will be required to cover the Area’s responsibility and occasionally, will require overnight stays supporting other areas within the DIO Central Region.
