Job Description

Senior Buyer St Albans - Office Based role£40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + birthday off, staff discounts, eye-care vouchers, bonus scheme, free parking, health and wellbeing programme8am to 4.30pm or 9.30am to 5pm, Monday to FridayPermanentKL10610 A great opportunity to join an established e-commerce business near to St Albans.This is a standalone role and requires someone who is willing and dedicated to doing the heavy administration part of the role initially, alongside the new admin assistant as they learn. Experience in an ecommerce setting, procurement for B2C and/or Jewellery/fashionexperience preferred.Our client’s company is going from strength to strength as demonstrated by their exceptional growth over the last few years. They are now looking for an outstanding Purchasing/Procurement Manager/Buyer to join their small team in their newly refurbished offices, located in St Albans.About YouYou will be a driven individual, who is passionate about product, procurement and supplier relationships.You will excel at operational organisation and will be eager to make an impact in this pivotalrole. Someone who loves collaborating and teamwork, but also with the ability to manage and lead a team. You will lead this department autonomously reporting directly to the founder. You will have exceptional attention to detail and are meticulous to a fault,along with excellent problem solving and analytical skills. You will crave the opportunity to grow, manage and lead a team ensuring their development whilst ensuring customers receive products that match the high quality, they expect.The Role You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the supply chain to ensure stock is delivered and live on site in line with the critical path. You will be accountable for price negotiations and product costs ensuring the business’s margin goals aremet. You will be the key contact for our supplier network, monitoring contracted SLAs and working to maintain and develop lasting relationships with suppliers.Skills

Experience
  • 2 years plus experience working in a similar role
  • Shopify or similar ecommerce experience preferred
  • Project management experience essential
  • Understanding of the B2C market preferred
  • Previous experience managing supplier relationships
  • Understanding of jewellery manufacturing methods or a background within fashion or jewellery
  • Experience with forecasting and stock systems
  • Basic booking or accounting experience
  • Experience working for a retail company, ideally in a digital setting
Key Responsibilities Procurement
  • Plan yearly ordering schedules in line with critical path, considering global holiday seasons.
  • Own and coordinate product production schedules utilising in-house systems, for all stock; including new collections and repeat orders, in line with critical path
  • Identify and update schedule changes to the wider team
  • Liaise with quality control and fulfilment to prioritise goods in
  • Raise purchase orders and place orders with suppliers
  • Work with finance team on invoicing issues/queries. Reconciling to ensure short/over shipments, partial deliveries, cancellation, returns of products and price changes are reflected on internal system
  • Manage inbound courier logistics including price negotiations
  • Work with quality control team to coordinate the return of faulty products for timely replacements or refunds/credit
  • Negotiate product pricing with suppliers maintaining target margins
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate terms, and ensure the best value for the company
  • SLA Management - ensure contractual compliance by tracking of supplier performance against SLAs, ensuring delivery dates, quality, quantities and product specifications are adhered to
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers by driving product specifications, quality and RRP compliance.
  • Set up new suppliers into the relevant systems.
  • Work with the Quality Control Manager to ensure all purchased items meet the companys quality standards and specifications ensuring compliancy with UK and US legislation
Merchandising
  • Create product ASNs and barcodes
  • Manage and oversee the creation and population of new collection product cascades’ ensuring accurate product specifications and pricing for Marketing team
  • Generate product RRPs for approval
Reporting
  • Monitor and report monthly inventory levels
  • Generate reports on product rate of sales, depletion date, stock out periods, merchandising tiering accuracy and collection/product performance.
  • Report on slow sellers for end of lining and price reduction sales events
  • Work with founder to forecast future needs to prevent shortages or overstocking
  • Generation of product forecasting spreadsheets using Excel and internal stock reporting apps
  • Provide In-House Assembly team with product forecasts
