In this post you will support the Principal Green Spaces Officer in the delivery of a wide range of trees and woodlands services by seeking to safeguard the District’s natural heritage and promote environmental quality within the district.Arboricultural Officer Responsibilities:You will be providing professional advice and guidance to service users and colleagues. This will include management of highways tree inspections and surveys. You will also issue works to contractors, monitor, supervise their performance and enforce health and safety regulations in relation to these works.Arboricultural Officer Requirements:Educated to Degree/HND or Foundation degree qualification in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Community Forestry Management or Landscape Architecture/Management, Dip Arb (RFS) or be working towards a Professional Diploma in Arboriculture. A full driving licence is required for this role. The successful applicant will possess; tree software and surveying skills, an in-depth knowledge of health and safety issues relating to trees, contractor management and tree management experience.This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Check.About St Albans City & District Council:St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas.
