Job Description

Coxswain - HumberHumber Lifeboat Station, Spurn Point£30,978 - £36,445 (dependent on experience)About usOur purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning.The RNLI is looking for a passionate Coxswain at our Humber Lifeboat Station. To be part of this team youll be someone whose resilience and leadership skills are just as strong as an ability to handle a boat in adverse sea conditions.Your RoleThe Coxswain role at Humber is different to any other, this is due to its unique location - Spurn Point. The successful candidate will work as part of a 6 days on, 6 days off rota pattern. During your shift you will live at the station in crew accommodation.As Coxswain your time will be divided between ensuring the Station, lifeboat and associated equipment operate to the highest order, training crewmembers to the RNLIs competence standards.You will aid crew training by, undertaking seagoing exercises, identify ways things can improve and impart your valuable knowledge - so that when an emergency shout does occur, you, your crew and your lifeboat will be absolutely prepared.Ashore you will work alongside the Station Manager to lead the operational management of the station.You will need to have the following qualification RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (Power) or equivalent (Commercially endorsed).About YouYou will need to demonstrate excellent leadership and management qualities with exceptional communication and relationship management skills and have the ability to motivate and maximise peoples potential.You will be confident and very comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.Equality, Diversity, and inclusion is at the heart of the RNLI.
