Senior Civil Engineer, Central London (Hybrid Working), £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, plus car allowance, pension & healthcare;Move into the contracting sector and join one of the UKs leading civil engineering firms. The opportunity would appeal to a civil or structural engineer with design experience seeking a change of emphasis, plus new career prospects. You will be part ofa multi-discipline design and delivery team that provides technical leadership for all their UK projects.Duties: Your workload will be within the highways and rail sectors encompassing design and delivery. This will include; providing technical advice to estimators for infrastructure tenders, assisting project managers to develop innovativeand cost effective construction solutions, design of piling platforms, crane bases, ground supports and foundations, sequencing of works and provision of technical advice to site teams. There will be occasional site visits and regular in-house design teammeetings.The Company: A limited liability company with circa 1000 employees. Market leader in the construction of major civil engineering infrastructure with special expertise in the rail and highways sectors. A fifty year heritage of heavy civilengineering contracting.About You: You should be a degree qualified civil engineer and be working towards chartership, or already hold chartered or incorporated status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, or a similar body. A background in civil / structuraldesign gained within a consulting engineering environment, or a contractors design office. Knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design that includes some exposure to temporary works design. Good lateral thinking skills with the ability to communicateconcepts to less technically focused colleagues. Well developed communication skills, able to foster productive working relationships with client representatives and external stakeholders.
