Job Description

Our client a local manufacturing company are looking for a team leader to manage the day to day running of the Repair Team. This is a permanent role 40 hours per week.You will be responsible for your team by:·Taking ownership of the Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery of the team·Developing your own and the team’s capabilities in order to keep up engagement.·Leads day to day activities for your teams·Resolves first line people management issuesPrincipal Duties and responsibilitiesSafety - to ensure a safe working environment·Responsible for ensuring your team work in a safe and healthy environment.·Ensure compliance with the relevant health, safety and environment procedures including PPE and waste disposal·Promoting a culture where Accidents, Near Misses, Potential Near Misses are reported and TRACAS are carried out.·Ensure that Risk Assessments are carried out, reviewed and are up to dateDelivery - to ensure that customer satisfaction is met by delivering the committed repair duration turnaround targets:·Daily/Weekly expectation setting though communication pyramid·Reviewing and reporting of local KPIs and put mitigating actions in place if out of limit·Effective management of staff utilisation and capacity planning including holiday and absence·Ensuring adherence to Shop Floor Management rules for your area e.g. First In First Out.·Ensure that all team members are operating at the required performance levels by using data to analyse Quality, Delivery and Cost and addressing any issues through expectation setting, feedback, coaching, support and using the company’s My Performance system.Quality - to ensure that the quality of the repair, internally and externally is to the manufacturers standard:·Management of teams 6S in their area·Understands Global Guidelines and ensures areas of responsibility are in compliance ensuring standardisation and reapplication within MRS where possible.·Analyse teams Quality performance to identify trends, root causes and set objectives or corrective actions to resolve these.Personal and Team Development:·Ensure that the team is engaged in the business objectives, so that they understand the relevance of their job role within the business.·Promoting the Global Values·Carry out 121s, My Performance Reviews, Team Meetings·Resolves first line people management issues e.g. Return to work meetings, attendance meetings, undertaking informal and formal investigation meetings, undertaking appraisals and performance improvement plans (PIPs), referrals to Occupational health, and conducting stress risk assessments.·Development of staff and identifying training needs·Ensure that morale is positive so that Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost is met·Development of self and ensure that identified training needs are met.·Creating an inclusive working environment in which a diverse team can grow and succeed.Physical requirements·Some lifting and manual handling may be required depending on area.·Long periods of sitting or standing may be required·VDU usePERSON SPECIFICATIONExampleSkills & Abilities - please list the skills that the applicant would need to demonstrate for this post·Clear & concise written and spoken communication skills·Ability to present information to teams in a clear and engaging way·Ability to read and understand technical instructions/quality standards/processes.·Ability to identify and use sound criteria for assessing situations·Ability to lead and work as part of a teamExperience - please list what experience the person would need to undertake this post·Experience in people management and development.·Ability to remain balanced and manage situations of conflict.·Experience in Problem solving Techniques·Experience collaborating with relevant stakeholder and internals customers across the business.·Experience of working in an operational environment·Technical experience is an advantageKnowledge inc. qualifications - please list what knowledge the person would need to undertake this post·Previous management training would be advantageous·Good Computer literacy including understanding of common software packages including document creation, spreadsheets management, email and diary management.·Ability to undertake technical training where appropriatePersonal Attributes and Desired Behaviours and other requirements - please detail any other qualities you are looking for·Adapts your management style and approach in different situations and with different people·Use initiative to meet customer requirements·Behave in a Professional manner.·Takes responsibility for the work of the team·Willing to travel and occasionally work outside normal business hours·Positive attitude to work·Willingness to undertake continuous professional development including management training.
