Job Description

Role: Integration EngineerSector: HealthcareLocation: SouthendBand: 8aSalary: £45,753 to £51,668 pro rata. Dependant on skills and experience.Duration: 18 month FTCThe role:You will perform a supporting role within the Development and Integration Team, delivering services based on SQL Server 2008r2+, Microsoft Visual Studio development environment, Windows Server 2008r + and Windows 7+, Orion Health Rhapsody 5.5+. Additionally there will be a requirement to support other integration engines.You will be responsible, using their expert knowledge, for supporting the design, implementation and ongoing support of the Trust Integration Engines (TIEs) required for adoption of all Connecting for Health applications and assist in the transformation and consolidation of the existing service from three in to one.You must have had exposure with designing, development, testing and implementation of enterprise clinical or administration applications.Professional/Technical responsibilities:

  • This technical role requires the incumbent to design, develop, test and implement solutions using their expert knowledge associated with development of application solutions in line with the digital strategy.
  • This technical role requires the incumbent to design, develop, test and implement solutions using their expert knowledge associated with integration of clinical messages within an Integration Engine environment in line with the digital strategy.
  • Maintain with support from the DBA changes to SQL server environments directly related to solutions provided by the development and integration team.
  • Analyse, capture and document user and business requirements, in both a technical and non-technical format for clinical and digital services consumers.
  • Analyse, assess and feedback for digital services consumers the technical documentation provided by 3rd party suppliers.
  • This position freedom to work independent of managerial supervision, with day-to-day autonomy to manage the service, including responsibility for continuing development, improvement and expansion of the service.
  • Document and deliver development, Interface and database configuration change management tasks.
  • Ownership of applications systems developed for use within the digital services team.
  • Maintenance and optimisation of the Trust integration engine(s) to ensure a standardized approach to the use of components and interfaces across the MSB.
  • Develop and maintain technical systems documentation including all critical data flows for use within digital services.
  • To make decisions on the severity of faults and outages and notify the support services teams or otherwise escalate appropriately.
  • Responsible for the formulating and review of development and integration policies and implementing those standards within the integration and development of clinical applications.
  • Promote the role of the Digital Services within the Trusts.
  • Provide support for all staff within the Digital Service teams, where appropriate.
  • The use of advanced Keyboard and mouse skills across multiple environments and platforms.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by the Head of Digital Development & Innovation.
